Complication Insurance

The vast majority of medical insurance companies do not cover medical complications, if they arise as a result of an elective cosmetic procedure. As a result, FHF together with Genlib Insurance (FSP # 35482) has developed an innovative product called FHF Assure to address this possible complication.Complications are highly unlikely to arise, and normally occur in less than two out of every one hundred patients.

However, the cost of fixing the complication can add significant and additional costs to the original price of the procedure. FHF Assure is an affordable way of ensuring that in the unlikely event of a complication; potentially expensive additional costs will be covered (limited to the amount of the policy).

This product is only available to patients of plastic surgeons who are registered with the HPCSA, who are also members of the Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa.

WHAT IS COVERED?

Medical costs directly related to complications arising from the original cosmetic surgery procedure. The cover is valid for a maximum 30 days from the date of the original procedure.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

  • Pre-existing medical conditions
  • Suicide or intentional self injury
  • Any costs or medical expenses incurred in administering the original procedure for which the insured person was admitted.
  • Costs or medical expenses incurred for revision surgery at a later stage, related to the administering of the original procedure.

My philosophy centres on personal care. Compassion for my patients and the value of attentive communication have been an integral part of my approach from my first days of internship at Groote Schuur and Red Cross Children's Hospitals in Cape Town. It is my belief that effective communication is the basis for a successful outcome. I make it a priority to keep abreast of trends and advances in my field by regularly attending local and international conferences. I employ conventional techniques that deliver predictable, natural results. I believe it is the subtle modifications of each technique, particular to each individual, which optimise the outcome.
